The Celestial Turtle

Black Forest Circle and Seminary was founded by Lady Silver Ravenwolf in 1990 and has grown over the years into the BFC family which now spans the United States and Canada.  Black Forest incorporates Celtic Shamanism, Germanic Witta, Gardnerian, British Traditional, Druidism, and the practice of Pennsylvania Dutch Pow Wow.
    
BFC is an initiatory and oath bound organization.  Membership is by invitation only.  Perspective students who have practiced the craft for at least a year undergo a layered interview process, and if accepted into the group and coven environment, begin a journey of growth and personal alchemy which usually encompasses a four year process of formal instruction and skill level attainment.  Students embrace an on-going education as well as a myriad of service opportunities within an atmosphere of core instruction, and progress through a three-level degree system while cumulatively adding numerous responsibilities expected for the roles that they will eventually undertake. 

 

The Celestial Turtle is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, with students and our roots in Pennsylvania as well.  The original coven of the Celestial Turtle was formed in 2005 and became a clan for our region in 2008.  CCT commits to be of service to each other, our communities and our world while working to heal and protect and to extend ourselves wherever necessary to effect positive change as befits our individual gifts and talents.  CCT believes in actively engaging to preserve Gaia, personal and civil religious rights and freedoms, and assisting each other in order that we may all achieve our highest aspirations.   

Our totem animal is the Turtle...for us, a symbol of power, persistence and endurance throughout life.  The Turtle carries the message of continuing change within the concept of time upon its back, and  has been revered as a symbol of the alchemical journey in many a creation legend.  For we Shamen of CCT, the Turtle is a connection now to the sacred teachings of the universe and how we might incorporate them into our lives.  The Sign of the Turtle on the adjoining page is offered as our ode to this very humble but essential creature that walks silently upon Mother Earth amid the instincutal wisdom and unconditional love of those connected to the Earth's energy.

 

Cyber/distance learning is available for outlying regions; circumstances evaluated on an individual basis.  Cyber information is woven within the coven atmosphere as well.
